We hope to re-open March 2021
Dear Youth Club members and parents/guardians,
Following the trial of opening Youth club in September which we were eager to do, we have now reviewed the situation and because of low numbers and the increased uncertainty with the ‘COVID-19’ restrictions, as we head into the Autumn/Winter months, we believe it to be in the best interest of all that we close until at least March 2021 when we hope by then things will have significantly improved. We do hope you are all doing well at school, college and work and we wish you a very Happy New Year.
Kind regards and God bless
Youth Club Leader and the team -Lee, Sara, Mark, Linda, Myles and Iona.
Days Lane Baptist youth club is a fun and welcoming environment with a Christian influence. Our mission is to provide a safe environment for young people and their friends to have fun, socialize, interact and relax, with the opportunity to make new friends, without the social pressures of smoking, drinking, drugs and things of a sexual nature. The evening begins at 7:15 p.m. where youth will turn up with their weekly sub of £2 which goes towards snacks, soft drinks and activity equipment.
The youth are also free to get out whatever equipment / activity they want, other nights may have a special organised activity. General activities include craft, board games, table tennis, darts and badminton etc. Occasional trips are also arranged. At 9p.m. the evening ends with a short bible study. Youth then help clear up at 9:30p.m. before going home. The age range for joining is between 11 years and 18 years, on reaching 18 years, regular attendees may continue on until the age of 25 years. After which they are given the opportunity to become a leader if they wish.
– Claudia Aged 12 – “I have been for about a year. It is a fun and sociable place to go to as you make a lot of new friends and you can talk to them about how your week has been. It also brings people together as there are fun activities and trips.”
– Raphael Aged 14 – I’ve been attending youth club for about 2 to 3 years. Youth club for me means a place where the youth of the church get together, socialize and learn about the Bible”
