Dear brothers and Sisters

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour.

Due to the current situation with the Coronavirus, we have taken the decision to close all our meetings at Days Lane Baptist Church from today. This is in line with the government restrictions, regarding meetings. This closure will be for the next four weeks, but we will continue to follow the government updates and all advice given by the NHS.

We believe that this is a wise course of action as our aim is to contain the spread of the virus and to protect those who are vulnerable and most at risk. It is our responsibility to value and to protect life as the Scriptures makes clear. The book of Leviticus gave the Jewish people clear instructions regarding how to prevent the spread of disease. This is God breathed wisdom and we need to apply it.

Where do we go from here?

We will be livestreaming a sermon on Sunday mornings, 11am, for those who have the facilities for this.

We will be sending out Bible study notes for Wednesday nights, and Sunday nights. If you could link up with various people for this, through WhatsApp or other links. We will try to coordinate this so that all runs smoothly.

I will be doing a short daily devotion on WhatsApp for those who have that facility, and we will be sending out sermon notes by email.

We well be phoning you through the week and making good use of video links so that we will enjoy speaking face to face.

There will also be online lessons for the children attending the Kids Club and Sunday school.

Please continue to visit our website for updates.

Brothers and sisters, let us remember one another at this time. Let us pray for our families, our church, our friends, our neighbours, our nation and the nations. Let us pray that God in His goodness will bless us and shine on us with His face. Let us pray that this virus will soon be turned away from our nation and the nations. Let us pray that people will come to know God’s saving grace.

Grace and peace be with us all.
